Karen and I have supported the orphanage for the last fifteen years, visiting and spending time with the children. The purpose of this website is to help Care & Share, and all the proceeds of photo sales will go directly to their Italian branch, Mummy and Daddy Onlus.

Care & Share India

Care & Share India has helped more than 10,000 children below the poverty level in Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh, India). Care & Share helps street children, children of sex workers, physically challenged kids and shelters orphans, and abandoned babies, and assists juveniles detained in the Observation Home (local reformatory). Since 1997, they have built and run nine schools in different slums and in their children's villages. Since 1995, Care & Share has rescued over 1,000 street children, 165 infants, and HIV+ and AIDS orphans of Vijayawada. Since 2000, the rescued children have been sheltered in 27 acres of “Daddy’s Home” Village in the countryside. Due to the dramatic increase of AIDS, the 35-acre campus “Butterfly Hill” was built in 2005 for the many new orphans and HIV+ children in need of a home. Care & Share cooks over 5,000 meals a day for the kids in Daddy’s Home and Butterfly Hill, and for those in the other facilities scattered around the city and slums. They also have had a daily milk program for 500 kindergarten children since the year 2000. Most of these children have free medical visits, medicine, and access to Care & Share vaccination programs.
